Physics department was established in 1948,when University of Ibadan was founded as a college of LOndon University.Since then,it was steadily played its own part in the development of national manpower.Consequently,an overwhelming proportionof physics graduates today in Nigeria ar alumni or alumnae of this department,or the offsprings there of in infdusties,goverment,schools and colleges,even the accountancy,management anf of course,in the thirty or so University Department of Physics.

A high-quality education is one of the most important things that we can provide in our department. Exposure to a variety of topics, people, and adventures all contribute to a fulfilling department experience.
